Sensing k-space trajectories and encoding them in MRI raw data

New method compensates scanner imperfections

A new  preprint manuscript demonstrates inductive measurements  for encoding of rectilinear and spiral EPI k-space trajectories in MRI raw data. This addresses scanner imperfections of particular relevance for demanding sequences, and provides enhanced image reconstruction. The method uses open-source hardware for real-time signal processing, and so-called magstripe encoding for communicating k-space positions to the scanner.

The paper is accepted for publication in Magnetic Resonance Materials in Physics, Biology and Medicine (MAGMA) and is available as a preprint.
