At three MMCE conferences (Magnetic Moments in Central Europe, 2011, 2015, and 2017), Lars Hanson gave connected talks on the foundations of Magnetic Resonance. The interpretation and connection between classical and quantum descriptions were adressed. Good and bad ways of visualizing magnetic resonance were discussed.

A few words about the MMCE conference since it has an additional focus compared to those of other NMR meetings: It is an important aim to challenge accepted views on technologies, concepts, findings and sometimes make participants understand something that they maybe thought they knew. The next "Magnetic Moments" occur in Prague 2019.
