 Talk by Emil Ljungberg

Abstract:

Zero Echo Time (ZTE) MRI refers to a group of sequences which push the TE as close to zero as possible. While this has many benefits such as ultra-fast imaging, near silent operation, and sensitivity to tissues with short T2, it also comes with many challenges in pulse sequence design. In this talk I will give an introduction to ZTE MRI sequences and describe the unique design challenges as well as benefits they present. Following this we will explore some applications of ZTE for neuroimaging including structural and quantitative imaging, as well as advanced methods for motion correction. On this journey we will explore all areas of the MR image creation process, from k-space sampling to image reconstruction, and image processing.
