Did you know that when zooming into an MRI voxel, axons appear organized as laminar structures

— even when crossing at an angle!

Prof.Tim Dyrby's group at Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance (DRCMR) and DTU Compute has shed light on this. His latest research published in eLife, reveals that diffusion MRI and x-ray synchrotron imaging detect the same microstructural anisotropy, bridging the gap between imaging scales and shedding new light on white matter organization.

It will be exciting to discuss how these findings could enhance neuroimaging models and white matter research!
