On Friday the 23rd of June, Nanna MacAulay will give talk entitled: Cotransporter-mediated production of cerebrospinal fluid
The cerebrospinal fluid is continuously produced at a rate of ~500 ml/day in the adult human. The majority of this fluid production takes place across the specialized epithelial cell layer of the choroid plexus, by hitherto unresolved molecular mechanisms. The talk will focus on our identification of the Na+/K+/2Cl- cotransporter as an unconventional water transport protein and its significant contribution to CSF production in rodents.
