The Radiography education at the University College Copenhagen (KP) and at the MR Research Centre (DRCMR) at Amager and Hvidovre Hospital has the ambition to establish a mutual collaboration and exchange between education, research and practice. We have established two independent, closely linked part-time positions at KP and DRCMR, and we hope that by employing the same candidate in both positions, we can move one step closer to reaching our goal.

DRCMR is an internationally high-profiled research centre focusing on magnetic resonance imaging with a specialty in diagnostic imaging and brain stimulation within basic and clinical neuroscience. On its staff list, the centre has more than 75 researchers with 20 different nationalities and in 2014/2017 the Capital Region of Denmark awarded DRCMR with the “Global Excellence” Health prize.

The Radiography training at KP is the country’s largest in radiography, which educates radiographers in three different study programmes. The 18 Adjuncts and Assistant Professors are responsible for the basic training, as well as the extended training and further education, including doing research assignments in cooperation with practical collaborative partners. Lessons are based upon the latest new research in that field, and research being performed is brought directly into the classroom.

About the job

You get to play an important part in contributing to the creation of a joint venture and a strong professional environment across KP and DRCMR within radiography training and research in relation to MR Imaging. You get to engage in teaching, counselling, and research and developmental projects in radiography and across professional contexts.

Your work assignments will mainly consist of the following:

• Teaching and counselling of students and course participants in the extended training and the further education process.
• Developing and organising the training programme with a focus upon the inclusion of research results and IT in the lessons.
• Planning, completing and evaluating own research and developmental projects as well as sparring on colleagues’ projects, including being involved in raising external funds of the projects.
• Participating in DRCMR’s Reader Centre in quality assurance and standardized analyses of MR Imaging in research projects.
• Arranging and coordinating projects in collaboration with external collaborating partners, both research institutes and companies.

You collaborate closely with researchers and teachers in the radiography area and other professional joint ventures as well as with researchers from other areas of expertise and teachers from other educational fields.

About you

The right candidate for the job:

• Has a background as Radiographer, an academic degree and has obtained or is soon to have obtained a Ph.D. degree.
• Has practical experience with MR imaging as well as setting up and completing research projects on MR imaging.
• Has great experience with teaching and counselling radiography students and has a wish to include research results in the lessons.
• Has good communication skills as well as the wish to teach and guide students as well as course participants in the extended training and further education process.
• Has the wish to include IT in own educational and didactic planning.
• Is interested in mono- as well as cross-professional research and developmental projects.
• Can initiate, implement and complete research projects together with relevant collaborating partners, as well as raise external funds.
• Can manage and do quality assurance in own research projects as well as include others in research projects.
• Has a great motivation for participating in creating a professional joint venture evolving around research and teaching and contributing to an environment of developed competencies, e.g. through sparring with colleagues.
• Has the wish to participate in the management and development of Radiography in collaboration with colleagues.
• Thrives on a great deal of self-management.
• Masters both oral and written Danish and English on a professional level.

Salary and terms of employment

This job involves two independent and individual employments at KP and DRCMR, respectively, with weekly working hours of 18,5 at each of the two institutions.

Employment in the two positions will take place under the assumption that the same candidate is being employed in both positions.

The terms of the two employments are agreed upon in a specific “Agreement about research collaboration, etc., based upon the individual employments between the University College Copenhagen and Amager and Hvidovre Hospital”.

Employment at the University College Copenhagen

Employment at the University College Copenhagen will happen as Adjunct or Assistant Professor according to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the relevant organisation and based upon ‘Bekendtgørelse nr. 1065 af 4. juli 2016 about employment structure for teachers at business academies, university colleges and the Danish School of Media and Journalism.

If you are employed as an adjunct, you will enter into a lecturer qualification process and participate in our ambitious adjunct courses. The employment as an Assistant Professor requires a positive lecturer assessment from a university college, cf. Bekendtgørelse nr. 1227 af 23. oktober 2018 regarding lecturer qualification, lecturer assessment, etc.

Employment at Amager and Hvidovre Hospital

The employment at Amager and Hvidovre Hospital will be a position as a Postdoctoral or AC employee. The salary is set according to existing agreements and depends upon personal qualifications.
