Position as Research Senior Consultant at the DRCMR is now available.

The Capital Region of Denmark is seeking applicants for a permanent position as Senior Consultant in MR Neuroresearch. The appointment, which is available immediately, is with the Capital Region of Denmark, with service at the Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance located at Copenhagen University Hospital Hvidovre.

 

The Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance

The MR Department at Hvidovre Hospital, also called the Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance (DRCMR), has a large research activity, especially in the areas of neuro and basic MR research. The department also has an extensive clinical activity with corresponding collaboration between the clinical and research sections. The DRCMR is equipped with a Siemens Magnetom Expert 1 Tesla scanner, a Siemens Magnetom Vision 1.5 Tesla scanner, and a Siemens Magnetom Trio 3 Tesla scanner. In addition, the Department has a Varian 4.7 Tesla scanner for investigations in rodents.

The DRCMR performs clinical diagnostic studies for Hvidovre Hospital and other hospitals. Primarily neuroimaging referrals are performed for Rigshospitalet (also belonging to the Capital Region of Copenhagen). The MR department is also a designated site for evaluation of epilepsy referrals, and provides specialized services in epilepsy MR. In addition to the clinical activities, DRCMR is home to a broad ranging program of interdisciplinary research, especially in neuroscience. This includes the development and application of MR techniques such as fMRI, DTI and morphology in research on brain mapping, neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders, ageing, multiple sclerosis and brain maturation. The centre is involved in extensive domestic and international collaborations such as the Center for Integrated Molecular Brain Imaging (CIMBI).

The position requires a physician who can obtain National Board of Health Certification as such, and preferably have a clinical background. The physician should have research experience in the area of methodology, biology and medical aspects of MR research with special emphasis on neuroscience. The qualifications should be at a level of professor or associate professor. The physician to be appointed should together with the other leaders in the department secure research and educational aspects. The research is conducted in collaboration with other institutions, especially those involved in Cimbi and the candidate must therefore possess collaborative skills. The physician will primarily be responsible for research projects in the field of neuroscience. The physician should participate in securing research funding as well as registration and ethical approval of projects. The physician should also contribute to further developing the collaboration between research and clinical functions within the department.

Conditions

Salary and conditions of employment as agreed between the Capital Region of Denmark and The Medical Specialist’ Association. It is a requirement that the physician to be appointed within a period of two years learn Danish to a degree sufficient for daily communication.
